Jingle bells, Jingle bells… uhhh *cough cough* sorry my Christmas spirit is starting to get to me with all of the really snowy weather! We are talking 20cm by tomorrow people! So glad we weren’t planning on heading out of the city this weekend. Okay, I am a really big winter fan; the chilly nights when you are snug inside, hot chocolate, eggnog, skiing, skating, and the list goes on. Buuuuuuut the one thing I am really not a fan of is brushing off my truck 😦 nope, no fun at all. For some reason the snow always seems to get down my sleeves or into my boots or gloves. Yup that was my truck this afternoon before heading out. Okay enough on that subject, moving swiftly on….
This morning started great! I slept in until 8:30!! I can’t even remember the last time I slept that late. And what do snowy cold mornings call for? A nice hot breakfast.Steel cut oats all cooked up with half a banana, 1/4 cup of pumpkin and about 1 egg white. On top were some strawberries, blackberries, pomegranate seeds, and shredded coconut. Is anyone else out there loving the pomegranate these days? I used to avoid them just because I didn’t know how to get at the seeds. But now….
- cut the pomegranate into quarters
- fill a large bowl with water
- submerge a quarter of the pomegranate into the bowl of water and start peeling the skin away (the water also keeps your hands from staining). The seeds sink to the bottom while the pith floats. Bada boom bada bing a cornucopia of ruby red sees for your taking!
After breakfast I took my first Les Mills class BODY ATTACK with my friend!!! Wow that was amazing and where has it been all my life. I had heard a lot about these classes in the blogging/fitness world but didn’t expect it to be above and beyond what I expected. I was a sweating dripping mess at the end and it felt great! Thanks B!
The rest of the day was spent eating some lunch and then heading out for a mall outing with my besty. Came away with my favourite blush and a coffee. The blush is Sugarbomb by Benefit.
Well I hope everyone has an amazing Saturday night and enjoys the extra hour in bed tomorrow.
P.S. keep an eye out for a restaurant review coming your way.
